Detailed 10-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Marrakech: Welcome to Morocco

Your journey begins in the vibrant city of Marrakech.

Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your traditional riad in the Medina. Depending on your arrival time, you can start exploring the lively souks, historic streets, and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner or relax at your riad.


Day 2 – Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → Aït Benhaddou → Ouarzazate

After breakfast, your adventure truly begins as you leave Marrakech and head into the High Atlas Mountains.

You’ll cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), with panoramic views of valleys, Berber villages, and dramatic mountain landscapes.

Stop at the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most famous ksars, used as a filming location for many movies.

Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.


Day 3 – Ouarzazate → Anti-Atlas → Alnif (Fossil Region)

Today you travel deeper into Morocco’s geological history.

Leaving Ouarzazate, the landscape gradually changes from mountains to arid desert plains as you enter the Anti-Atlas region one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world.

You’ll begin to see exposed rock formations rich in ancient marine fossils, dating back over 500 million years.

Arrive in Alnif, a small town known for its fossil discoveries.


Day 4 – Alnif → Trilobite Sites → Erfoud → Merzouga

A fascinating day dedicated to prehistoric life.

Visit local fossil quarries where trilobites extinct marine creatures are still found. You’ll also meet local artisans who carefully extract and polish fossils.

Continue to Erfoud, famous for fossil workshops and marble products, before heading to Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara Desert.


Day 5 – Sahara Desert Experience (Erg Chebbi)

Today is one of the highlights of your Morocco desert tour.

In the late afternoon, you’ll ride camels into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of the most iconic landscapes in Morocco.

Watch the sunset over the Sahara before arriving at your luxury desert camp.

Enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a sky full of stars.


Day 6 – Merzouga → Kem Kem Beds → Desert Exploration

After sunrise in the desert, continue your journey into deeper geological exploration.

Today you’ll explore regions associated with the famous Kem Kem beds, known worldwide for dinosaur fossils, including the Spinosaurus.

Discover ancient river systems, fossil-rich layers, and mineral deposits.


Day 7 – Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt

Leaving the Sahara behind, you’ll travel north through the lush Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and dramatic canyon views.

This scenic drive offers a striking contrast between desert and fertile landscapes.

Arrive in Midelt, located between the Middle Atlas Mountains.


Day 8 – Midelt → M’Goun Geopark → Natural Wonders

Today focuses on Morocco’s unique geological formations.

Visit the M’Goun Geopark, home to fascinating rock formations and dinosaur footprints.

You’ll also explore Imi n’Ifri, a natural stone bridge carved by water over thousands of years.


Day 9 – Return Toward Marrakech via Atlas Mountains

Begin your journey back to Marrakech through scenic mountain roads.

Enjoy stops along the way for photos, tea breaks, and cultural encounters.

Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.


Day 10 – Departure from Marrakech

After breakfast, transfer to the airport depending on your flight schedule.
